Both of these are from a cellular automata, trying to emulate a liquid crystal.

• The first two come from a math formula;
• the third is a picture generated using diffusion limited aggregation on a quasicrystal. (103k)

• The first is a cellular automata run on a quasi-crystal tiling (47k);
• the second is a blue-green picture of a quasi-crystal tiling with diamond shaped tiles (33k);
• the third is a simplistic picture made with dots (17k).
• the fourth is another quasi-crystal, with donut-shaped tiles (88k).

• The first is a 1-dimensional CA rule that I enjoy (207k);
• the second is A 2-D cellular automata, with a twist (92k).
• the third is a portion of a Julia set (123k);
• the fourth is a slightly different Julia set (198k).

This picture is a phase diagram related to cellular automata. I also have some CA pictures here.

When I was at the Santa Fe Complex Systems Summer School in 1995, I made ten pictures which I handed out to interested people. I did not have access to a color printer, so the pictures were in black and white.
