I am a fourth year graduate students in Dr. David Lynn group in chemistry department. I am working on the self-assembly of amyloid β (Aβ) peptides, which can form characteristic fibrils related to the pathology of Alzheimer’s disease. The hydrophobic fragment Aβ(16-22) has been found to form robust nanotube scaffolds in acetonitrile/water solution. Since 2003, I have worked with Dr. Keith Berland’s lab focusing on the fluorescent techniques of fluorescent correlation spectroscopy (FCS) and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) to study the molecular dynamics of amyloid fibril formation of Aβ(16-22).
