About the Beta Version

Eventually, the instructor notes for each chapter will include: learning objectives, suggested activities, elaboration on further explorations, suggested answers for the questions, and more references. For now, these pages contain notes to myself, observations about the material, and to-do lists. I welcome suggestions from beta testers: please email me at rwytten@emory.edu (Bob Wyttenbach).

Notes

How to offer all the possible trial repetition options? Offer just the letters around the z axis? Make a table of possible increment and trial count options? Offer just a few options (45° with 100, 200, 400 trials in xyz) and letters around z. Make a designer for full options.
For now, I'm just offering the 45° increments with outline shapes, plus letters around z axis. I decided there is no pedegogic reason to offer all the options, although I may reconsider whether outline shapes or colored blocks should be the default. I could also offer options with 30° increments (takes 50% longer).
Could have a further exploration link that builds their own set by choosing precision (30 45, 60°), axes of rotation (x, y, z, xy, xz, yz, xyz), and number of practice and test trials. Same for letters.
In the instructor notes, suggest keeping a catalog of prior data, indexed by sex, handedness, whether one plays video games, or whatever. Students in later classes could use these anonymized data for further exploration.
Should I insert a pause before the Discussion, a link one must click before seeing the rest of the page? In general, this might be good for experiments.

Notes

All experiments use 45° rotation increments. 30° is also an option, settable by adding &increment=30 to the parameter string.
